Looking up to heaven, Jesus said, “As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they also may be sanctified in truth. “I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
Jesus, in talking to his Father, is really also talking to us. He sent his disciples and believers into the world, “sanctified in truth”, given the holy word to spread among all peoples. He talks about not only those he physically sends but those who believe in him after hearing the words. It is like word of mouth, you like something and you tell 10 people who tell 10 more people. The message is clear in the truth as we carry God with us every day, every minute that we are here on this planet living our daily lives. It is not about evangelizing on a street corner, but about living the light God has given you in every little thing that you do and say throughout your day. What glory from God that we receive when we follow his word and tell others about the word? But how much peace and joy do we receive as we share God’s love and peace throughout our day? What a happy time we can be a part of. Share some of your love and joy today and see who benefits the most.
